Uniting Auckland’s Inner West to Protect Native Biodiversity and Create a Pest-Free Tāmaki Makaurau.

Urban Ark supports local groups working to restore ecological diversity by helping with pest trapping, weeding waterways, and organizing planting days, as well as providing education.

Our goal is to make the inner west of Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland a place where communities come together to eliminate pest mammals—such as rats, possums, and mustelids—remove invasive plants, and plant native species to restore natural ecosystems. Urban Ark – Manawa Taiao envisions a thriving network of biodiverse parks, reserves, and backyards that connect our maunga and awa.
