Auckland Central Community Shed
Description
The Auckland Central Community Shed is a not-for-profit workshop offering members access to a fully equipped workspace for a minimal annual fee. Our members work on personal and community projects, pursue hobbies, and receive support while using high-quality machinery. Beyond being a space for hands-on work, it’s also a welcoming place to drop in, chat, and exchange ideas.
Collaborating with Our Community
Our members bring a wide range of skills and experiences, which is reflected in the support we offer to the local community. While our primary focus is assisting other community groups with their projects, we occasionally help individuals repair their cherished items if we have members available to volunteer.
We encourage other charitable organizations to reach out to us. If you're unsure whether your project is something we can assist with, feel free to review our project acceptance guide or simply drop by for a chat.
To help cover our operating costs, we typically request a koha (donation) from individuals, while not-for-profit organizations are charged a modest hourly rate plus the cost of any materials.
We have made many things for our community from Pataka Kai / food pantries to boats for the local school. If you would like something made for your community group at a community rate please get in touch.
While we are affiliated with Men’s Shed NZ, ACCS is open to new members of any gender aged 18 and over. The shed operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays from 10 am to 3 pm, and is located behind the park at Gribblehirst Park in Sandringham
